New Year, Emcee

I walked into 2023 without any New Year’s resolutions, and I must say, I feel as though I’ve been set free. The absence of the pressure the dreaded list caused me in the past is no longer there. I do, because I love, and my need for spontaneity is once again being nurtured.

Sure, structure, organization and planning is necessary especially when it you become involved with several institutions as an adult, however, not every thing is meant to go onto your planner. Some things also simply cannot wait until your schedule allows it. Understanding this has allowed me to almost fill up my 2023 rhyme book.

I rap and write raps more than 4 times more than I did last year, and January isn’t even over yet. This has revived my dreams of being an emcee, and and inspired me to start connecting with people in and out of the country that are into the old school fundamentals of hip-hop. This also means that I’ve been working on my beats more, and putting in the time to practice my saxophone, now that I have acquired the mental strength to deflect any unnecessary, emotional evocations from the outside world.

In the spirit of declining copious amounts of pressure, I’ve decided to start a new game, where all my readers comment “Free Earl”, under every post Monday and Friday post I manage to release.

Furthermore, I’d like to wish you all a prosperous New Year and a healthy mind.
